Recently, the researchers for energy storage system is more flexible and widely used renewable energy market, developed a new type of magnetic material, the magnetic material can make high-frequency transformer become lighter, cheaper and higher quality.

Mobile energy storage and power conversion systems installed on a single semi trailer can quickly and cost-effectively install solar, wind and geothermal energy systems even in the most remote areas.

"Such modular systems can be quickly deployed across multiple sites with less assembly and validation time," said Todd Monson, a researcher at the Sandia national laboratory in the United States.

The researchers said, the new manufacturing process can make the transformer core in a few minutes from the raw material into product directly, rather than as a conventional method with high temperature and decomposed under the iron nitride.

The method allows transformers to be as small as 10 times smaller than they are now, monson said in a statement.

Due to its magnetic properties, ferronitride transformers can be more compact and lighter than traditional transformers, and have better power processing capability and higher efficiency. They just need air cooling, another important way to save space.

Ferronitride can also be used as a more powerful high performance transformer core material in power grid.

Monson, so far, and his colleagues have proved that the preparation of iron nitride transformer magnetic core has the good physical properties and the magnetic energy, they are now, improved process and preparing on power testing equipment to test the transformer.
